Automatic Renewal Terms

This document describes how automatic subscription renewal works: when a debit is attempted, how the amount is calculated, how you are notified beforehand, and how you can stop it. It applies together with the consent text you accepted when you activated it, and where the two disagree, that consent text prevails in the exact form you accepted.

1. Definitions and parties

These terms apply between you, as the customer, and the company with which you hold your service contract — one of the partner companies, identified at checkout and named in the consent text you accept. The website tfiber.ro is operated by T-fiber Data SRL. By “automatic renewal” we mean the automatic, recurring debit of the card used for the payment through which you activated this option. By “mandate” we mean the authorisation you give by ticking the consent box.

2. What the consent authorizes

By ticking the consent box you authorise the company to automatically debit the card used for that payment, in order to renew your subscription each time it reaches its expiry date, without you having to return and pay manually. The authorisation covers exactly the card used at that time, not any other card of yours.

3. Eligibility

Automatic renewal activates only if your subscription is active, if the company providing your service takes part in this programme, and if that card supports recurring automatic debits. If the card does not support them, the payment you have just made is processed normally, but automatic renewal does not activate and you are told so separately.

4. How the amount is calculated

Each renewal buys again the same number of months you originally chose, including bonus months if your choice qualifies for a bonus under the commercial policy in force at the time of renewal. The amount is not fixed: it is recalculated at each renewal from your active services and your plan's contracted price at that time. If you change your plan, or add or remove services in the meantime, the amount of the next debit changes accordingly.

5. Safety ceilings

As a safety measure, the automatic debit does not happen if the calculated amount exceeds 500 lei, or if it is more than 20% higher than the amount of your initial payment or the amount confirmed when you last changed card. In that case you receive a message and must pay manually, at the new price, to continue your subscription; that manual payment starts a new automatic-renewal consent if you want one.

6. The debit-attempt schedule

The first debit attempt takes place 5 days before the date your current subscription expires. If that attempt is declined for a reason that allows a retry, one more attempt is made per day on the following days, with the last attempt taking place the day before the expiry date — so at most 5 attempts in total. If you pay manually before any of these attempts, your expiry date moves forward and no automatic debit is attempted for the period you have already paid.

7. Advance notice

You receive an email at least one day before the first debit attempt, stating the exact amount and the exact date the debit will be attempted. If the amount, the date or the card changes in the meantime, you receive a new email and the full minimum notice period is waited again before any new attempt.

8. When a debit fails

You receive an email after every failed attempt, explaining the decline, the date of the next attempt if there is one, a link to change your card and a link to pay manually. Certain declines — for example when your bank requires additional authentication from you, when the card has been reported lost or stolen, when the account has been closed, or when you have instructed your bank to stop payments — stop retries immediately, from the very first attempt, and the mandate is suspended. If the last attempt also fails, the mandate is suspended and your subscription expires on its normal date: there is no additional grace period and the service does not continue automatically past that date.

9. Establishment confirmation

After automatic renewal is activated you receive a confirmation email showing the card on file in masked form and the amount paid at that time. If automatic renewal could not be activated, you receive a separate email telling you so; in that case no automatic debit will be made and nothing extra is charged to you.

10. Cancelling the mandate

You can cancel automatic renewal at any time, from your account on the website, with no phone call and no explanation required. Cancelling immediately stops any debit that has not yet been sent for processing. If a debit is already being processed with the bank at that exact moment, that specific debit may still complete; in that case you are clearly told, with the amount involved, a transaction reference and a way to get support.

11. Changing your card

You can replace the card on file at any time, from your account, through a card verification with 3-D Secure authentication that does not charge you anything (0 lei). The new card is used for the next scheduled debit under your current mandate. Verification works only for the card networks supported by our payment processor.

12. Refunds and disputes

This consent does not limit or waive any right you have under the law, including the right to a refund for certain payments initiated by the merchant without an exact amount authorised in advance, under the conditions and time limit set out in Law No. 209/2019 on payment services, and your right to dispute a transaction with your bank. Disputing a payment with your bank or receiving a refund does not automatically cancel the mandate: if you no longer want automatic renewal, you must cancel it separately, from your account.

13. Relationship with your service contract

These terms concern only the way payment is made and do not replace the electronic communications services contract you have entered into. Your rights regarding unilateral changes to that contract are unaffected, and the debit notice you receive before each renewal does not take the place of a contractual notification.

14. Data protection and keeping the consent record

We keep the exact text of the consent you accepted, the time you accepted it, your IP address and the device or browser used, for 5 years after the automatic-renewal mandate ends, as proof of your authorisation. We do not keep your full card number; the card appears only in masked form. Details of how this data is processed are in the privacy policy.

15. Changing these terms

We may change these terms for the future. A change means a new version of the document and of the consent text: mandates that are already active remain governed by the exact text you accepted when you activated them, and a change that affects you is presented for your acceptance at a future payment.

16. Contact and complaints

For any question or complaint about automatic renewal you can contact us from your account on the website, or using the contact details published on tfiber.ro. If the complaint concerns a specific debit, quote the transaction reference you received by email so we can identify it quickly.
